“I don’t really think of myself as a rockstar, you know… I’m just me. I play bass in my band, and I care about nature and the environment, you know. I’ll probably get a job in civil service after college…”

“Damn, it’s almost graduation time. I ain’t even got a job yet, and my folks said they ain’t payin’ for my Gatsby hair wax anymore…”

Thanks. For candid shots of people on the street, I just use the Nikkor 55-200 zoom lens that came as part of a kit with my camera when I bought it. It’s hard for me to take credit for most of the pics I take because the standard lenses I have do such an amazing job.

You may be right. But, I think I’d have a blast taking street shots in any major Asian city.

I have the same impression of many people that Tokyo is the Meca for photographers. All Japan in general but Tokyo in particular.
Your sarcasm made me smile. You looked to these young fellows like an academic to his subject of study. I know this only happened at that moment or maybe later when You were reviewing your snapshots. They are living one day at the time like I do. Meantime ours perceptions, priorities and goals will continue to change.
