About TF

Shimokitawaza Winter EveningGreetings from Tokyo!

My name is Billy W, and I used to blog my life in Japan at a website called 7:10 to Tokyo. I guess you could say I gained a decent bit of notoriety from that endeavor, but the site never materialized into what I’d hoped it would, a dynamic blogazine with several contributors regularly publishing killer posts.
Well, in the beginning it did have the contributors, but my failure to manage the site properly along with a sudden boom in self-hosted Japan-themed blogs saw the initial flood of visitors subside considerably and all but one of the contributors disappear.
I do have to thank Shane Sakata for hanging around and contributing for the first half-year. I knew she was busy with her own online endeavors. However, she fully embraced the blogazine idea that I had come up with and supported me from the beginning.

Anyway, long story short, 7:10 to Tokyo deevolved into just my regular Japan blog even though it boasted something bigger.

So, I’ve finally decided to let 7:10 to Tokyo go.

Now, Tokyo Filter is my new Japan blog home and it doesn’t boast any sort of greatness at all. It’s just a place for me to braindump all of my Japan-related ramblings and to keep in touch with the online Tokyo/Japan community, as well as with those kind enough to take an interest in what I have to say about life in the land of the rising sun.

For those of you who’ve followed me from the 7:10 days, I thank you and look forward to your continued participation and support here at Tokyo Filter.com.

Cheers!

Change is a good thing, Billy. Good to see you’re still keeping the flame going. Hope to be doing something similar myself if this stupid workload ever lightens…
